Parliament Week with First News

First News is the UK's only newspaper for young people and the widest-read children's publication in the country with a readership of 1,047,543 seven to 14 year olds every week.

Parliament Week is a UK-wide programme of events and activities that inspire, engage and connect people with parliamentary democracy.  Parliament Week 2013 will run from 15-21 November.

On 21st November we were commissioned to travel up to London to shoot a special question time. 60 children from 12 schools were given the chance to have a personal tour of Portcullis House, Westminster. They were also privileged to be able to have a special question time that included the first and only woman speaker Baroness Betty Boothroyd as well as author Malorie Blackman. At the end of the day Malorie spent time signing her new book for the children.

Our brief was to record the event and capture the engagement of the children with the panel and vice verse; and the result? Hi John, Thanks so much for the photos – they're brilliant!! Jessica Howley, Marketing Assistant/Assistant to the Editor, First News.
